Krista felt defeated at 6 years TTC

I’m a 30 year old teacher living in Pennsylvania with my husband. Prior to joining Plan Yourself Pregnant, I was feeling very defeated. We had been ttc for 6 years. I tried Clomid and Letrozole and wasn’t getting much other help from my obgyn at the time. My husband and I were slightly overweight and I have hypothyroidism. My husband’s semen analysis came back relatively normal. It was at that point that we sought out a fertility specialist and decided to undergo IUIs.

While I received the clinical support at my many doctor appointments, the plan offered the emotional support I really needed. When no one you know struggled to get pregnant, it can feel so isolating. It feels embarrassing to talk about. You feel ashamed and angry with your body.

But….Rachel and all of these women get it. They offer advice and encouragement every step of the way. I truly believe that made all the difference and led to the success during my second IUI. I took away so much from the plan. It made me realize that getting pregnant is truly a whole body experience that can be impacted in ways we don’t even realize. I went into the second IUI thinking that even when it didn’t work, I had some natural methods to try and the support I needed to do so. That stress relief was what I craved. I needed a plan, and Rachel offered that.

I can assure each and every one of you that even if you don’t get pregnant during that one month, you will be glad to have been a part of it. You will feel relief to have concrete steps that are in your control, and you will make friends along the way who support you in a real and relatable way. It is so worth it, and I am so grateful to Rachel and all the strong and dedicated women I came into contact with during that time.

I will never forget it, and long after I welcome my miracle into this world I will continue to tell my story. Infertility is real and painful and scary, but you are not alone. I am no longer ashamed to tell the world about my struggles. Women across the world are out there waiting to help you through it, you just have to be brave enough to seek out their help. =)
